There is a lot to learn about job searching from this recent Stephen Colbert episode (outside of it stretching people to do things that they might look back at and realize is a bad decision). Here are a few:
1) Authenticity – when you are clear about who you are and what you do, it is easier to create your resume and, later, interview. Be true to who you are and your message.
2) Don’t lie! – It will eventually be found out.
3) Watch you virtual footprint – What do you think the impact of this video will be on her job search now? This is an exaggerated example, sure, but those pictures of you on Spring Break may not be ideal either…
